Our Morning Adult Bible Study is moving from Wednesday to Thursday morning. Prayers begin @ 9:15 with Bible Study from 9:30-10:30 beginning September 19. This year’s study is the book of Acts and the formation of the Christian Church.
Our Evening Adult Bible Study meets each Thursday at 6:30 pm in the CLC. We will be studying “Parables From the Back Side,” Chapters 7 through 12. There will be a DVD presentation from the author, Dr. J. Ellsworth Kalas and a discussion of the Chapter being studied led by Jack McDonald. This study will be 6 weeks in length, studying a new Chapter each week starting with Chapter 7. You should purchase the book and read Chapter 7 for the first session. In this book, Dr. Kalas presents new insight into the Jesus' parables by entering them through the "back side" - through the eyes of a minor or unsympathetic character. By approaching the stories in this way, Kalas releases new meaning and clarifies basic teachings. The DVD includes personal stories from the author's own experience and modern-day illustrations that enrich the retellings even more. These refreshing glimpses from the back side will provide new food for thought for everyone.
ANNUAL ZION UNITED METHODIST MEN"S BBQ
