What to Expect on a Typical Sunday:
When you enter the Sanctuary, greeters will offer you a worship bulletin describing the service. The warmth of our congregation is evident as you walk through the door as we began our time together with an informal time of greeting. You will find this is a friendly congregation that thoroughly enjoys this part of the Worship Service. As the greeting time comes to an end, you’ll hear a chime and the pastor will offer a welcome and highlight the week’s announcements.
By using the worship bulletin and following the scripture and hymn lyrics on our video displays, you will be able to follow our service easily. We stand during portions of our worship service and those places are marked with an asterisk in the bulletin. If you are unable to stand with ease, please feel comfortable remaining seated.
About midway through the service, children, kindergarten age and below, are invited to Children’s worship. The Children’s worship space is in the adjacent building to the left of the sanctuary. In addition, the nursery is always open for those younger ones who are unable to stay for the entire service.
Our offering plates are located at the rear of the Sanctuary. The gifts support the missions and ministries of this congregation and the global ministries of the United Methodist Church.
We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month. Following prayer and the blessing of the Elements (bread and unfermented wine [grape juice]) by the Pastor, our worship leaders are served Holy Communion, followed by an invitation to the whole congregation to partake. Holy Communion is open to all who wish to participate, including children.
Guests who feel uncomfortable partaking, or whose beliefs may prohibit participation, should not feel pressured and should simply remain seated. If you cannot stand to come forward to receive Holy Communion, please tell one of our ushers, and the Pastor will bring communion to you at your seat.
Prayer request forms are available in the pew racks. They can be placed in the offering plates by the doors in the rear of the Sanctuary.
All Sunday school classes begin at 9:00 AM.
